Lara Shoemaker
Youth Coordinator
Lara began attending Oak Grove in 2011 after moving to the area to work at Adriel. She attended Eastern Mennonite University and The University of Denver, where she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work. She has worked in the community at Adriel and now at Community Health and Wellness Partners where she provides counseling services. While Lara initially thought West Liberty would be a short stop on her journey, God had other plans and she also met her husband Josh at Oak Grove. They now have 3 sons, Luke, Titus and Ian. Lara believes the youth of Oak Grove are not only the future of our congregation but an essential part of the vibrant, living body of Christ today. She began serving as the youth coordinator in 2021 and loves organizing meaningful experiences where youth can grow in their faith and their relationships with others in a safe and supportive environment.
